The facilities at Walnut Tree Barn ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. A wood burner provides direct warmth in the lounge while underfloor heating is active in the kitchen, dining area and all bedrooms.
Dine
The kitchen diner is a great space to cook, dine and entertain. The kitchen is fully equipped with two ovens, an induction hob, two fridges, a freezer and a dishwasher. A large work top island houses a set of barstools and is an ideal lay out for guests that like to self-cater in a sociable way.
The dining table comfortably seats nine people and is a great place for guests to eat, drink and converse.
Unwind
Sliding pocket doors lead to a snug lounge area with two velvet corner sofas and two occasional chairs. Warm lighting and a wood burner make this an ideal place to unwind. There is a smart TV and cupboard full of games. Sliding patio doors lead to the patio and outdoor space.
Rest
There are four spacious en-suite bedrooms with smart TVs. The beds are all zip-link and can all be used as a super king or as two comfortable singles. The beds all have ‘Soft as Silk’ mattress toppers, quality cotton bedding with throws and cushions.
Relax
Walnut Tree Barn sits in the middle of working farmland with views over the neighbouring river meadows and providing a perfect place to sit and watch the local wildlife.
Walk
Numerous country footpaths are on the doorstep. The surrounding Yeo valley countryside is ideal for walking and cycling. Guests will enjoy the circular walks around nearby farmland, waterways and into the market town of Crediton. Fishing and golfing are also available locally.
Crediton Town
There are plenty of local country pubs and restaurants in the surrounding villages. The market town of Crediton, and its collection of independent shops, is a five minute drive or twenty minute walk away. Crediton has a wonderful bi-monthly farmers market which is held in the town square. The High Street has a host of independent retailers and restaurants / takeaways, a leisure centre with public swimming pool and supermarkets..
City of Exeter
The historic cathedral city of Exeter is 7 miles away with easy parking and a direct rail link from Crediton. It has a bustling city centre with well-known high street shops and local independent retailers. Exeter has a selection of city centre bars and restaurants and there are also suitable places to eat and drink on the ancient waterside quay area of the city.
The Moors
The scenic National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor are within a 40-minute drive away. Both moors contain an amazing variety of landscapes. Large areas of open moorland provide wildness and tranquillity, while deep wooded valleys and fast flowing streams combine to form a rich landscape.
The Coasts
The South Devon ‘Jurassic’ coast is a 40-minute drive away while the rugged North Devon coast and surfing beaches are a 60-minute drive away. Both the coastlines of Devon are popular visitor attractions with coastal footpath walks, beach bathing and water sports alongside the regions charming fishing villages.
